Hopefully, a lucky person will catch the grand prize Rainbow Trout worth $10,000.
There will be 400 other tagged trout worth $100, $50 and $25 each.

The 19th Annual Kiwanis Special Olympics Trout Fishing Derby drew 446 participants on July 11, 2015, at Wishon Lake.
A total of 74 tagged fish were caught during the event, including the $10,000 tagged fish number 2837.
The Grand Prize fish was caught by Luis Fuentes of Caruthers. See a Photo of the winner. See the 2015 Winners List!

This is the second time the Grand Prize fish has been caught. The first year was 2006, our tenth annual event.
In addition to the Grand Prize rainbow trout, there were 400 other tagged trout worth $100, $50 and $25 each.
A total of $3,500 was paid out. This was a record number of tagged fish caught.
The breakdown was as follows: 17 @ $100, 16 @ $50 and 40 @ $25.

Prizes were also awarded for total inches of non – tagged trout for adults and children categories. The first place adult winner was: Sang Xiong, of Fresno, 71.25 total inches. The first place winner for the children category was: Naythan Lee, of Fresno, 72 total inches. The Kiwanis Special Olympics Trout Fishing Derby benefits Special Olympics and has raised a total of $132,035.00 for Special Olympics over the past 19 years.


The fishing Derby is conducted under a Special Use Permit with the Sierra National Forest.
